Autumn in So Cal

We've been missing fall a little around here (I know, cry me a river--it has been in the 80's all week so I really won't complain much).  But I do love autumn.  And since there aren't a lot of falling leaves around here, I went with some fun new friends to a pumpkin patch/farm up in Moorpark last week. They have lots of pumpkins, farm animals, etc.  I was pretty excited to get a picture of Ella looking all fall-ish. I've seen all the mommy blogs.  That's pretty much just what you do.  :)

Let's just say things didn't go as planned.  Ella was the Grumpiest Baby at the Pumpkin Patch (this is in caps because I think it would make a great book title).  Ella cried and cried all day, ran away from me, yelled "No!" at every turn and refused to get in the wagon with my friends' kids.  I thought we were entering the terrible two's a little early and was feeling less than patient.

It turns out I am not a good listener.

We got home and Ella had a temperature of 101, a runny nose, and was sick for 3 days afterward. She was probably wondering why I was torturing her with pumpkins and a camera when she was feeling so awful.  But she ended up eating a lot of candy over Halloween weekend so I think she has forgiven me.

I am definitely still figuring out this whole mom thing.

  1. Aw, that looks like a really pretty pumpkin patch, though. I think I'd have a million MORE pics of my kids if they would just be a little more cooperative! :) Ha ha.
