One way to deal with the Chicago winter is by spending 4 and 1/2 weeks away from the Chicago winter. We started our trip in San Diego in mid-December. We stayed with Chris' brother Spencer and his family and my sister Kim and her family. We decided that San Diego has the best weather on the planet. We spent one day hiking in 75 degree weather. Did we mention it was December? Heaven!
We then drove from San Diego to Ventura--my hometown (these pictures are from our little road trip). My parents are pretty much in love with Ella so it was a fun reunion.
We spent Christmas Eve going for a walk at the beach in Ventura. This is one of my favorite places on the planet.
This was Ella's first time on a swing. I think it is safe to say she is not a huge fan...
My entire family was together for Christmas this year. There were 17 of us in total. Yes, we still wear matching pajamas. A Pabst family Christmas is serious business. Ella was mostly interested in the wrapping paper.
